  • Hell Fire and Invasive Procedures

Pelgrane Press have put out two new scenarios for Trail of Cthulhu. The first, Hell Fire by Adam Gauntlett deals with the infamous 18th century Hell Fire Club wherein the players are members whose investigations take them to "the heart of the disease-ridden underbelly of London society" of the late 1700s.

Invasive Procedures is ostensibly a scenario for Pelgrane's Fear Itself but also includes Trail of Cthulhu conversion notes for those who wish to adapt this modern-day hospital-based adventure.

While Hell Fire is (currently) PDF-only, Invasive Procedures is a print pre-order (with PDF).

    Hell Fire

Hell Fire for Trail of CthulhuIn the smog and grime of 18th century London, a great evil stirs…

In the seedy underclass of the city a plague is taking hold. Its victims are under the sway of something far worse than they can imagine, an entity of disgusting power bent on engulfing the world in disease and death.

The Investigators are members of the exclusive, but publicly reviled Hell Fire Club. One of the Club's most trusted members is involved in a Breach of Promise suit. But when he vanishes and the woman is found dead, outsiders start to make inquiries; Club secrets could be revealed. If this happens, Club members would be socially ruined. The Investigators must discover the truth of their Brother's disappearance and who – or what – killed his alleged paramour.

This trail will take the protagonists into the heart of the disease-ridden underbelly of London society, through a globe-spanning conspiracy and eventually, to the Colonies in a race against time to save the Americas from sharing the same fate as their Brother.

Hell Fire is the brand new Trail of Cthulhu scenario from Adam Gauntlett (Not So Quiet). Set in the late 1700s, it harnesses the tense politic situation of the time and infuses it with Mythos horror. A must-have addition to any Keeper's library.

    Invasive Procedures

Invasive Procedures for Trail of Cthulhu and Fear Itself
The kids all say Our Lady's Hospital is haunted. You can see why, when you look at it, that big gloomy pile of staring windows and rusting beds. They should have torn the place down years ago, instead of letting it linger on like this. I'd hate to be a patient there. They send you there to die.

You are a patient in an old, rambling hospital. Part of it is shut down, part of it lies in decay. The equipment is out of date, the staff are unmotivated and the whole place reeks of disinfectant, death and seventy years of despair. The hospital has ghosts and spirits walking the halls but they are the least of your worries. You should be afraid of what comes out at night. You should be afraid of what makes the ghosts flee.

Dr Drake, the resident surgeon is a genius and like all genuises, he has his secrets, his obsessions and his madness. One such obsession has taken root in the hospital. You can't stop it, all you can do is try to get out alive.

Invasive Procedures is the new Fear Itself adventure from Gareth Hanrahan, author of Arkham Detective Tales, three Skulduggery settings and the forthcoming Brief Cases: Three Adventures for Mutant City Blues. Invasive Procedures includes an extract from The Book of Unremitting Horror.

Invasive Procedures now includes conversion information so you can run this adventure with the Trail of Cthulhu system. The print version is now available to pre-order through the Pelgrane Press Store, to be released in December 2011.
