All aboard! All aboard the Orient Express!

Yes, it's officially my least imaginative blog title ever (and it's up against some pretty stiff competition, believe me)

This is a quick post to mention that my new novel, The Express Diaries, has now been officially announced by Paul.

The Express Diaries is a novelisation of the Yoggies... idiosyncratic play-through of Horror on the Orient Express - a pulp ...

  2. Mistakes

Regular readers of my blog will probably be aware by now that the tone of my posts tends to vary wildly between flippant and maudlin - sometimes even within the same post. I'm going to be honest; this isn't one of the flippant ones. Consider yourself warned.

There's a nice little word that you can use in medical terminology - you may have heard it before. I may even have mentioned it in the blog ...

'He who smelt it...would forever be the one who DEALT IT!'

It occurs to me that, as I am the author of this post, the title implies that I am, in fact, an idiot. I'll leave you to make your own minds up about that one. Anyway, I've been meaning to do a short series on internal organs for a while - don't ask me why, you may as well question why I write this blog at all - and that is dangerous territory, my friend.

    All right, if you ...

  5. Pedigree Dogs Exposed - 3 Years On

Just a quick heads up that in the UK on Monday, at 9pm, BBC4 will be showing a follow-up documentary to the 2009 'Pedigree Dogs Exposed'. I have pretty strong feelings about the suffering caused by dog breeders (you can read some of my thoughts in my recent post, Breeds Apart) - and I can still remember sitting and watching the original programme with my wife. We were both overjoyed - not by the content, which was pretty horrible - but because someone was finally saying the things that we had wanted ...
