Fourth Book - first page(s) so far. I need to think of a title too.

Chapter One – The Man With a Plan or a Priestly Predicament. Berythus Naechos closed the door to the Temple of Libraria behind him. It was a stout door, hard dark wood inlaid with great metal bands, lacquered with paint, and many, many, layers of grime.
It was not the main door, they lay on the other side of the building, and opened onto Quill Street...

yock's Lovecraftathon: The Haunter of the Dark

Posted by yockenthwaite in Blog yockenthwaite, 06 October 2015 · 88 views

I see that this story is dedicated to Bloch, and the main character is clearly based on him. Indeed reading more about the story I find it's a sequel to one by Bloch featuring a Lovecraft like main character. Well I haven't read that, and I know nothing of the history between the two authors. So I'm just going to approach this story as a stand alone piece...

As I delve into part two of Unseen Masters I am debating a few issues in my head 1 What will be Helen's reaction to the way the game plays out? 2 When do I start part 3? 3 How will the others react to the situation? 4 Will the conundrum of belief/disbelief be effective, i.e. Can I carry it off? 5 Most of all, will it be fun for pl...

Scenario 1 - London - January 1923 - 2nd posting

Posted by Caligulaa in Horror on the Orient Express - Total Recap!, 04 October 2015 · 109 views

Colonel Williams and Frank Patterson were clearly running out of patience. Who was this irritating mustache man who so eagerly watched their conversation with Professor Smith ? And why did he run away when he was noticed? Time to find out. They were getting ready to bust the door to the antiques shop "The Crescent Treasury " when Frank suddenly put his...

Latest episode: King of the Ghouls

Posted by nickedwards in City State of the Eldritch Overlord, 04 October 2015 · 82 views

In the previous session I had to improvise having left the entire prep work at home (or rather I thought I had left it last time and hadn't). Luckily I did have the Pelgrane campaign Eternal Lies and was able to adapt the Maltese episode at short notice. I already had necter and 'the mouths' from Eternal Lies worked into the plot so it wasn't difficult to...

CoC 1-6e, CoC 7e

I'm going to be writing a sourcebook for CoC games set in Ancient Mesopotamia over the month of November, ostensibly for National Novel Writing Month. As such, I haven't really written much yet, but I have begun to build out the structure so I can figure out what I will have to write. Attached is the file of the latest draft, with a bunch of lipsum cramme...

The proto-shoggoth awakens

Posted by Emrys in Nightmares in Norfolk, 21 September 2015 · 232 views

Thursday, 14th August, 1924  Mason Strong knows that Mina hasn't died from her injuries as dead people don't scream that loud. He wonders where the nearest hospital is but doesn't recall seeing anything hospitalish since arriving in Gamwell. He thinks as hard as he can. The Haggarties mentioned a retired doctor in Gamwell but said there's no doc...

The Perishing Perishing

I am very slowly working my way through the myriad suggestions, criticisms, line edits and clarifications to The Perishing of Sir Ashby Phipps kindly suggested by my generous beta-readers. So far I have worked through four pages of critique, which may not sound like a lot but involved hours of work: although there weren't major structural changes, s...

Trail of Nyarlathotep - Masks of New York: Flashback - The Carlyle Expedition Farewell Party Keeper's Notes Okay. I just looked and it has been a while since I updated this blog. Where has the time gone?

Anyway. As I have stated previously, as much as I like the overall concept of Masks, there are a few things that I decided to change. You have probably read the police investigation parts that I wrote back in 2013 (!). This was to give some substance to the on...

The Rambles campaign unfortunately ended on a whimper and a lot of frustration on my part, though as the Keeper and that it was a home brew understandably a lot of the blame for it ending badly lays at my feet...
