What is Yog-Sothoth?

Besides being one of H.P. Lovecraft's literary creations, online Yog-Sothoth is a place devoted to Lovecraftian investigative games such as Call of Cthulhu, Trail of Cthulhu and others as well as the works and influences of Jazz Age author, Howard Phillips Lovecraft, and those he inspired.

If you're a fan, we hope you find something useful here, and if you're new to it all, an additional welcome!

History

Yog-Sothoth (aka YSDC: "Yog-Sothoth dot com") has been continuously online since 1998. For a long time it ticked along with the traditional 'black background' style beloved of so many old HPL inspired sites.

In 2001 the site was went into its 2nd generation with a very green theme, launched on 13th November, the 20th anniversary of the game. The 3rd generation of the site was launched at the end of 2002 built upon an early Content Management System. In May 2010 YSDC transferred to a more advanced CMS with better features. For future-proofing, in August 2013 we moved to a fifth generation site (as you see it now).

Where is Yog-Sothoth based?

We're based in Yorkshire in the United Kingdom but the site is administered from both the UK and US.

How is Yog-Sothoth Supported?

YSDC is supported by Site Patronage and donations.
